Terms of Use

Recore is a training log you write in. These terms are the agreement between you and the person who publishes it. They say what you get, what a subscription costs and how it ends, what you may and may not do, what Recore does not promise, and which law applies. They are written to be read, but they are a contract.

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

Recore is published by Edis Mizic, Slovenia.

Postal address: available on request at edismizic14@gmail.com.

Email: edismizic14@gmail.com

By creating an account, starting a free trial, buying a subscription or otherwise using Recore, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Recore. Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies to every app licensed through the App Store, and these terms are the additional terms it allows:

https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Where these terms and Apple’s disagree about the App Store licence itself, Apple’s terms win. Where they disagree about anything else, these terms win.

The Privacy Policy explains what Recore does with your data. It is part of this agreement. These terms also cover the Recore website and its waitlist.

These terms are written in English. A translation may be offered for convenience; if a translation and the English text disagree, the English text applies, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.

2. Who may use Recore

Recore is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you are younger, do not create an account; if we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.

You may use Recore only for yourself. One person, one account. You may not share an account, sell access to one, or use Recore on behalf of a business without our written agreement.

You may not use Recore if the law of your country forbids it, or if you are a person with whom Apple or we are prohibited from dealing under applicable sanctions or export laws.

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. We do not set or store a password, and we never ask for one. Keep the Apple or Google account you use to sign in secure: everything done through your Recore account is treated as done by you, and we cannot tell the difference.

The name you give during setup is shown beside anything you post on the feedback board. Give one you are willing to be read by people you do not know.

You can delete your account at any time in You → Delete account. It is immediate, it removes your account and every row that belongs to it from our servers, and it wipes the local copy on the device. Export first if you want to keep the record — deletion cannot be undone.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we must close by law, or that we reasonably believe has been compromised. Section 16 says what happens then.

4. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Recore on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple’s Usage Rules in the App Store Media Services Terms allow, for your own training. Nothing is sold to you: the app and the service stay ours.

You may not, except where the law expressly allows it despite this clause:

  • copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the app;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to extract its source code, models, prompts or keys;
  • rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, redistribute or make the app or your access to it available to anyone else;
  • access the service by anything other than the app — scrapers, scripts or other automated means — or probe, overload or interfere with it;
  • work around rate limits, entitlement checks, subscription status or any other protection, or use another person’s access;
  • use the parsing, prediction or explanation functions in bulk, as a general-purpose language-model service, or to build a competing product;
  • remove or alter any notice of ownership, or use the Recore name or mark for anything but referring to the app.

Recore may install updates to itself when you launch it, including bug fixes delivered without a new App Store version. You may turn automatic App Store updates off on your device, but an old version may stop working with the service.

5. Subscription, free trial, price and renewal

Recore is a paid app. Two auto-renewable subscriptions are offered: an annual plan and a monthly plan. Both include the same free trial for subscribers who are eligible for one.

The exact price, the trial length and the first charge date are always shown on the subscription screen before you buy, in your own storefront currency, exactly as the App Store reports them. This document deliberately quotes no amount: a figure written here would be wrong for most countries and would go stale the first time pricing changes.

Eligibility for the free trial is decided by the App Store, once per subscription group. If you have used the trial before, the subscription screen shows you the price with no trial rather than promising one you cannot have.

Every purchase is made through the App Store. Apple — in the European Union, Apple Distribution International Ltd. — is the seller of record and charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your card and cannot charge it.

A subscription renews automatically, at the price shown when you subscribed, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are in, which you keep to the end. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your Recore account — cancel it there first.

If you start a free trial and then buy a subscription before the trial ends, the unused part of the trial is forfeited — this is how the App Store handles trials, and it is the same everywhere.

Before a trial ends, Recore shows you a reminder inside the app carrying the date, the amount and how to cancel. We do not send email.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms, because Apple sold you the subscription. Ask at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, your statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days is exercised the same way, through Apple. Nothing in these terms limits a refund the law gives you.

If a price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where the law or Apple requires it, asks for your consent before the new price is charged. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal.

A subscription is for you. It does not transfer with a coaching link, a shared device or a sold phone.

Promotional access, offer codes, beta or test builds and other free access may be given at our discretion, may be limited in time, and may be withdrawn. A pre-release build distributed through TestFlight is governed additionally by Apple’s TestFlight terms, may contain faults, and may change or stop without notice.

6. What happens if you stop paying

Your record is never held hostage. When a subscription lapses, Recore becomes read-only: every note, session and plan stays on your device and in your account, still browsable and still exportable. Only new logging pauses.

Export is free forever and is never gated, degraded or delayed — including after a subscription ends, and including after an account is suspended.

A read-only account is kept until you delete it. We do not delete it for you because a subscription ended.

7. What Recore is, and what it is not

Recore is a record. You type what you did; the app reads your words into exercises, sets, reps and weights; it keeps the text exactly as you wrote it; it shows you your own history; it suggests a next session from arithmetic over numbers you logged; and it syncs your record to your own account so you can export it.

The reading can be wrong. A line of text is read by a language model, and a model misreads. The sentence you wrote is always kept underneath, you can correct any reading, and you are responsible for checking that your record says what you did. A chart, a total or a suggestion built on a misread line is only as right as the line.

A suggested load is a calculation, not advice. It is computed on your device by fixed rules from sets you logged yourself. A model may rephrase the reason in your language; it never chooses the number. You decide what to lift.

Recore is not coaching, not a training programme, and not medical, health, nutritional or fitness advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent or assess any condition, and nothing it shows is a statement about your health. Recore does not guarantee that you will get stronger, lose weight, avoid injury or reach any goal.

Recore is not a substitute for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach.

8. Health and safety

Training with weights is physical and carries a risk of injury, including serious injury. By using Recore you confirm that you are responsible for deciding whether, how and how much to train.

Before starting or changing a training programme, consult a physician, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury, are pregnant, or have not trained in a while. A bad day, an illness or a niggle outranks anything on a screen. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or anything unusual, and seek medical help.

Use proper equipment and technique, and train within your ability. A number Recore suggests is derived from what you logged; if what you logged was wrong, mistyped or misread, the number is wrong too. Check it before you load the bar.

If you turn on Apple Health, Recore writes the start, end and type of each session to the Health app on your phone and reads nothing. It never writes a calorie, a distance or a heart rate, because it cannot measure them.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, illness or loss arising from training decisions you made, with or without Recore. Section 18 says what this does not exclude.

9. Your content

Your notes are yours. You keep every right you already had in what you write, in your corrections, your shorthands, your check-in notes and your setup answers.

You grant us a licence to store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to run Recore for you: to read it into structure, to compute your next session, to back it up to your own account, to sync it between your devices, and to give it back to you as an export. The licence lasts as long as your content is on our servers and ends when you delete it or your account.

We do not sell your content, publish it, show it to other users, use it for advertising, or use it to train models — ours or anyone else’s. The one thing that is published is what you choose to write on the feedback board, and you publish that yourself — see section 10.

You are responsible for what you put in Recore. Keep it to your own training: do not log anything you have no right to record, and do not put another person’s personal information in your notes.

Keep your own copy. Export is always available, and a record you have the ability to export is a record you are expected to have backed up.

10. The feedback board

You → Send feedback is a public board. Every other Recore account can read what you post there, under the name you gave during setup, so post only what you are willing to have read by people you do not know, and do not post anything that identifies somebody else.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not post anything that:

  • is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful or discriminatory, or that incites violence;
  • is sexually explicit, or graphic in a way that serves no purpose on a board about an app;
  • contains another person’s private information, or impersonates another person, Recore, or its staff;
  • infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other right;
  • is advertising, spam, a scheme, a link, or an attempt to sell anything;
  • contains malicious code, or tries to exploit the board, the app or another user;
  • is deliberately misleading about the app or about another person.

Every post and every comment can be reported from the app, and any author can be blocked, which hides everything they write from you. When four different people, each with an account at least three days old, report the same thing it is hidden automatically, before it has been read by anyone here. Reports are read by a person and acted on within 24 hours: we remove content that breaks these rules, and we may suspend or close the account behind it, without notice. Your export still works if we do.

A post or comment containing a link, or language the board refuses, is not accepted. A name that reads as Recore’s own, as staff, or as “You” is published as “Someone”.

Anything that needs a human answer faster, write to edismizic14@gmail.com.

What you write stays yours. Posting it gives us permission to show it to other Recore users on the board, to moderate it, and to keep it until you delete it — and nothing else. You can delete your own post or comment at any time, and deleting your account deletes them with it. We may also remove any content for any reason, and we are not obliged to keep, publish or return it.

We do not pre-screen the board and are not responsible for what other people post. If something there harms you, report it and write to us; we act on reports, but we do not promise that every post is accurate or lawful.

11. Acceptable use

You must not use Recore:

  • to break any law, or to infringe anyone’s rights;
  • to attack, probe, overload or disrupt the service, its servers or its providers, or to gain access you are not entitled to;
  • to work around rate limits, quotas, entitlement checks or any other protection, or to help someone else do so;
  • to harvest other users’ data, or to send anything to another user that they have not asked for;
  • to upload anything containing malware, or anything you do not have the right to upload;
  • to misrepresent who you are, or your relationship with Recore;
  • as a general-purpose language-model service, or through automated bulk use of the parsing, prediction or explanation functions.

Server-side limits protect the service for everyone: the number of readings an account can ask for in a day is capped, and a request that exceeds it is refused rather than queued. Hitting a limit is not a breach of these terms; working around one is.

We may suspend an account that does any of these things, with or without notice. If we do, your export still works.

12. If you link a coach

Coaching is not in every release of Recore. If your app has no coach row in You, this section does not apply to you.

A coaching link is between you and the coach whose invite code you typed. Recore is not a party to it, does not vet coaches, and is not responsible for anything a coach says, prescribes or fails to say. A coach is not our employee or agent.

By typing an invite code you allow that coach to read your sessions — the text, the sets read from it, your rating and your check-in notes — and to comment on them, as the Privacy Policy describes. They can never edit your record, and they never see your email, your setup answers, your bodyweight or your subscription.

If you coach through Recore, you are responsible for complying with any professional, licensing, data-protection and consumer rules that apply to you, for the advice you give, and for using what a client shares with you only to coach that client. You may not copy a client’s record out of Recore for any other purpose.

Either side can end a link at any time, from the app, without the other’s agreement. Ending it stops all further access immediately; comments already written stay readable to the person they were written to.

13. Services provided by others

Recore depends on services that other companies run, each under its own terms and privacy policy: Apple (the App Store, Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, payments, dictation and notifications), Google (Sign in with Google, and the Gemini model that reads some accounts’ notes), Anthropic (the model that reads notes and writes short explanations), Supabase (the database and server functions), RevenueCat (subscription status), Expo (app updates and, where coaching exists, notification delivery), Sentry (crash reports) and PostHog (usage events). The Privacy Policy names each one and what it receives.

We choose these providers with care, but we do not control them. A change, outage or decision at one of them can affect Recore, and we are not liable for it beyond what section 18 allows.

Apple Health is Apple’s. What Recore writes there is governed by Apple’s terms and your Health settings once it is written, and Recore cannot remove it for you.

14. Availability, updates and changes to Recore

Recore is offered as it is and as it is available. The app works offline by design, so a server outage does not stop you writing — but sync, parsing, predictions and the feedback board need a connection and a working server, and none of them is guaranteed to be available at all times, without interruption or without error.

We may change, add or remove features, change the models or providers behind a feature, and change the limits that keep the service running, at any time. We try to make changes that make the app better and to say so in the app when they matter.

If we ever stop offering Recore, or stop a feature that holds your data, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app, and export will stay available for the whole of that period and for as long as we reasonably can afterwards.

We may perform maintenance that briefly interrupts the service. Where we can, we do it when few people train.

15. Intellectual property

The Recore app, its design, its text, its code, its models’ prompts, its name and its mark belong to Edis Mizic or to its licensors, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the licence in section 4 and the rights you keep in your own content, nothing in these terms gives you any right in them.

If you send us an idea, a suggestion or feedback — on the board or by email — you agree that we may use it to improve Recore without owing you anything, and without any obligation to keep it confidential. You keep any rights in the words themselves.

If you believe content on the feedback board infringes your copyright or another right, write to us with enough detail to find it and to judge the claim. We remove infringing content.

16. Ending this agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting your account in the app. Cancel your subscription first, in your Apple Account settings (https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions): deleting the account does not stop Apple charging it.

We can end it, or suspend your access, if you materially breach these terms, if the law requires it, if an authority orders it, if your account is used in a way that harms the service or other users, or if we stop offering Recore under section 14. Where it is reasonable to do so, we tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

When this agreement ends, your licence ends and you must stop using the app. Your record stays exportable for at least 30 days after a suspension or closure that we initiated, unless the law forbids it; you can delete it sooner. A subscription that is still running is not refunded by us — Apple sold it, and section 5 says how refunds work.

Sections that by their nature should survive — your content, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law and the general terms — survive the end of this agreement.

17. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recore is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the reading of your notes, a suggested load, a chart or an explanation is correct, that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that a fault will be fixed.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another country with similar laws, you have statutory rights that this section does not remove: digital content and digital services must conform to the contract, and where they do not, you have the remedies the law gives you — in Slovenia under the Consumer Protection Act (ZVPot-1). Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

18. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything else that the law of your country does not allow to be excluded or limited. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including statutory refund and conformity rights.

Subject to that paragraph, and to the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, for lost profits, lost business or lost goodwill, or for loss that neither of us could reasonably have foreseen when you accepted these terms;
  • we are not liable for the loss of data that you had the ability to export, or for the consequences of a misread line that you had the ability to correct;
  • we are not liable for injury, illness or loss arising from training decisions you made, or from relying on a suggestion, a chart or an explanation as if it were advice;
  • we are not liable for the acts or omissions of Apple, Google, a coach, another user, or any other third party, or for anything outside our reasonable control;
  • our total liability to you for everything arising out of or relating to Recore in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Recore in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim and 50 euros.

Where the law of your country does not allow a limitation above, it applies to you only to the extent that law permits.

19. Your responsibility to us

If a third party brings a claim against us because you used Recore in breach of the law or of these terms — for example because of something you posted on the feedback board, or because you logged content you had no right to log — you agree to compensate us for the loss, costs and reasonable legal fees that claim causes, to the extent the claim arose from your breach. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by us, and it does not apply to the extent the law of your country does not allow it.

20. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Recore or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it; we are solely responsible for both, to the extent these terms and the law require.

If Recore fails to conform to a warranty that the law implies and that cannot be excluded, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claim, loss or cost arising from a failure to conform is our responsibility, to the extent set out in these terms.

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Recore or your possession or use of it, including product-liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws — all to the extent these terms and the law allow.

If a third party claims that Recore or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Recore, such as your wireless data service agreement.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. On your acceptance of them, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you.

21. Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to Recore, are governed by the law of Slovenia, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of the country where you normally live.

If you have a problem, write to edismizic14@gmail.com first. Most things are fixed by a reply. We aim to answer within five working days.

Disputes that cannot be settled this way go to the competent court in Slovenia. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may instead bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and we may bring a claim against you only there.

In accordance with the Slovenian Out-of-Court Resolution of Consumer Disputes Act (ZIsRPS), we state that we do not recognise any provider of out-of-court consumer dispute resolution as competent for disputes under these terms. Nothing stops you and us agreeing to mediation for a particular dispute.

A claim must be brought within the period the law allows, and in any case you agree to bring it within two years of the event it arises from, where the law lets us agree that.

22. General terms

These terms, Apple’s Standard EULA and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Recore. They replace any earlier terms. Nothing on the website, in the App Store listing or in marketing is a promise unless these terms repeat it.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part applies to the greatest extent it can, and the rest stays in force.

If we do not enforce a term at some point, that is not a waiver: we can enforce it later.

You may not transfer this agreement, or your account, to anyone else. We may transfer it to a successor who takes over Recore and these obligations; we tell you in the app if that happens, and your rights are unchanged.

Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control — an outage at a provider, a natural event, war, a strike, an act of a government, a failure of the internet.

Except for Apple under section 20, no one other than you and us has any right under these terms.

We may give you notice in the app, on the subscription screen, or at the email address on your account. Notice to us is by email at the address below.

23. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms — to reflect a change in the app, in the law, in a provider, or in how the service runs. The date at the top always tells you which version you are reading.

If a change materially reduces your rights or adds obligations, we show it in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, and the current subscription period is never affected by it. A change the law requires, or one that only adds a feature or clarifies wording, may take effect sooner.

If you do not accept a change, stop using Recore, cancel your subscription and, if you wish, export and delete your account before the change takes effect. Using Recore after a change takes effect means you accept it.
